BDM 360 X-bow built and shipped to South Africa
At the end of 2010 BDM were commissioned to build a KTM X-bow race car and ship it to the customer in South Africa, ready for the new racing season. The base car is a Clubsport and when BDM received the car it was immediately stripped down to the tub. The engine and gearbox was removed and stripped to make way for uprated engine internals and an uprated clutch with singlemass flywheel to handle the extra power and torque of the BDM 360 turbo kit. Wheels, brakes and suspension were also reinforced with BDM's M06 lightweight wheels and Dunlop slick tyres, 2 piece floating disc's and stiffer WP springs. The std KTM dash was also replaced for the AIM racing LCD data logging dash, with Smarty CAM video recording and live GPS circuit mapping. Once the car was completed and had been shipped to the customer the team then flew out to assist setting-up the car, ready for the first race outing.
MkII Audi TT cruise control retro fitted
As well as preparing the X-bow race car BDM were busy with general service work and some... more subtle modifications. A customer brought in his Audi TT MK II 3.2ltr Quattro for cruise control to be retro fitted to the car. The steering column was quickly taken apart and the stalk and new trim was fitted neatly. After some ECU recoding and testing the car was ready to hand back to the customer.
Audi S3 2.0TFSi stage 2 with a few extra bits
Towards the end of the month BDM fitted a stage 2 set-up on one customers Audi S3 2.0TFSi. The kit consisted of the BDM intake, Blueflame 3 inch turbo back exhaust system & Revo stage 2 remap. Other items such as the RS4 fuel pressure return valve, THS engine mounts, KW front & rear anti roll bars, EBC USR discs & Ferodo DS2500 pads were also fitted. Having already had the Revo stage 1 on the car for some time the customer was impressed by the next step up in performance. Power improved through-out the rev range and the stopping force of the new brake set-up was much sharper than the already good standard set-up.
