Backdraft Motorsport (BDM)
Founded in 2006, Backdraft Motorsport has developed consistently into a large and well respected tuning company that now tunes cars worldwide. BDM’s new premises in Milton Keynes boasts a fully equipped 6000 square feet workshop with two poster ramps. A state of the art Hunter 4 wheel alignment ramp with corner weight set up scales. A purpose built, in-house fabrication room, for custom design pipe work and exhausts, including Stainless Steel and Aluminium. A purpose built engine building room for building new and uprated engines. A comfortable customer waiting area and show room.
Mark Hosken (M.D)
Founder and managing director of BDM is Mark Hosken with over 20 years experience in motorsport. With a passion for racing and development, the past years have seen Mark compete in motorcycle and car racing. Since starting the company he has developed the successful big turbo conversion for VAG 1.8T which has been used to great effect in the BDM Audi Mk1 TT race car as well as selling many kits to customers road cars. Mark has also designed big turbo kits and components for the KTM X-bow, which now see’s BDM regarded as the leading X-bow tuner in the world. An in depth knowledge of the modern Lamborghinis has attracted the 2 GT3 spec Gallardos as a full time racing project in 2011. The latest development project in house, is BDM’s own Porsche Boxster Spyder. The spec for the car is to keep it’s original looks whilst improving the power and handling for track use.
Steven Neate (Office/Sales)
Call BDM and it’s most likely Steve that will answer. He is the first port-of-call for you the customer. Steve will make sure you get the answers to your questions. He deals with all jobs in the workshop and takes care of all the telephone and website orders going through the business. Steve also has a passion for motorsport, having competed in the British superbike series for several years and last year competed in the Le Mans 24hr race on his Yamaha R1.
Simon Belenger (Technician)
Simon is the newest member to the team and brings in a massive amount of experience. His career has included a mix of service work and motorsport that has seen him travel across the globe. Starting as a mechanic in a garage when he left school he has since grown to be a highly skilled and experienced race mechanic, having worked in a wide range motorsport that has ranged from BTCC, British GT, British Rally Championship, Porsche Carerra Cup, Ferrari 430 challenge cup & ALMS.
Steve Davey (Technician)
Head engine technician Steve Davey has vast experience at the highest levels in motorsport. He started his career at Formula 1 in 1979 with Lotus, and has since worked in BTCC Touring Cars and most recently Cosworth V8 Formula 1 development.
Steve is not only capable and expert at rebuilding, upgrading and developing GT enginges (V8/V10/V12), he is passionate about generating performance and efficiency from the root.
