Backdraft Motorsport offer a full race team service. We convert road cars into race cars, modify & develop existing race cars for performance and provide full trackside support including everything from transportation to pit stops.
The BDM race team are a seasoned, experienced and succesful crew who are ready to support your racing venture whether it be a one off event or a full competitive championship.
Workshop
Building Race Cars
BDM are experienced in performing every aspect of building and creating a race car. From constructing and installing roll bars, stripping parts for weight reduction, race spoilers, racing seats and steering wheels, everything right through to race team livery.
We take road cars and convert them into fully race ready machines or take existing race cars and make modifications to your specification.
Our experience in the racing field is immense, having built, modified and run race cars of all kinds for many years. We currently have three Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 race cars running in British GT and 24 Hour endurance competitions. We are also in the process of creating an Audi S3 race car (from original road car) for competition next year in Britcar and 24hr Endurance events.
Engine Rebuilding Team
Head engine technician Steve Davey has vast experience at the highest levels in motorsport. He started his career at Formula 1 in 1979 with Lotus, and has since worked in BTCC Touring Cars and most recently Cosworth V8 Formula 1 development.
Steve is not only capable and expert at rebuilding, upgrading and developing GT enginges (V8/V10/V12), he is passionate about generating performance and efficiency from the root.

We are on hand for Track days, Race testing, Sprint races and Endurance racing. The BDM team is ready to support your race car at everything from one off events to full championship seasons, not only in the UK but across Europe.
Our team is widely experienced in motorsport, with combined competition involvement in Britcar, GT Trophy, Dutch Supercar Championship, Creventic Endurance, VW Cup, GT Cup, BTCC, FIA GT, Le Mans and Alms.
